Valarie Anderson is a luxury media specialist with a rich background in retail and fashion marketing. She began her career as Marketing Director for South Coast Plaza assisting Henry Segerstrom market his vision for luxury shopping in Southern California. She was the youngest West Coast Director for Women’s Wear Daily and made a name for herself by launching the first “Oscars Editions”.
She moved to Associate Publisher of Sportswear International where she helped globalize the trade magazine into a worldwide powerhouse. There she spearheaded all North American business launching “Los Angeles Fashion Week” and “Toronto Fashion Week” editions working from Downtown Los Angeles. Coordinating with corporate headquarters in Milan and Frankfurt and managing editorial in New York, she traveled extensively to international fashion shows, fairs and market weeks globetrotting on a weekly basis even as far as India.
She became dual titled Associate Publisher of the “L.A. Times Magazine” and Fashion Director for the L.A. Times. There she launched “IMAGE”, the first weekly fashion pages into the paper and quickly became the first female Publisher of the L.A. Times Sunday Magazine. As the architect of redesigning the magazine and re-launching it to its first million-dollar issue, she was responsible for an international staff of creative and business executives around the world.
She’s managed media for “LA50” and “Flower Magazine”, was a consultant for the Caruso Affiliated Company and has worked for Jared Kushner at The Observer Media Group launching “LUO” into the luxury Asian market in L.A. Valarie currently runs all aspects of a luxury real estate M Media/ M magazine productions in Orange County for mogul and Bravo Star John McMonigle.
